FLA director comments on increasing difficulty of finding credit
Availability of credit has become increasingly sparse, the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has said.
Around 60 per cent of firms who had looked to get new finance lines claimed it had been difficult, and that availability had decreased in the last three months.
The director general of the Finance and Leasing Association, Stephen Sklaroff, claimed that lending to small businesses needed "an urgent boos".
"Business finance lending fell 19 per cent in the last months of 2008. The government therefore needs to ensure that schemes aimed at supporting lending are extended beyond the high-street banks to include the specialist lenders."
For those who are prepared to shop around for a good contract hire deal, however, there are some around.
Nationwide Vehicle Contracts has begun a car sale on Volkswagen models, with deals on the Golf MK6 2.0 TDi SE 110 5 door from £199.95 plus VAT per month and the Touareg 2.5 Tdi SE Automatic for £349.95 plus VAT per month.
