Fiat predicts more Contract Hire interest from fleets
Changes to Capital Allowance rules are likely to see more fleet bosses turning to Fiat, the manufacturer has claimed. More contract hire customers may start turning to Fiat after the introduction of new Capital Allowance guidelines, it has been suggested. The manufacturer said it expected to receive a growing number of enquiries from fleet bosses interested in its range of low-emissions models. As a result of the changes that came into force on April 1st, vehicles that release up to 160 g/km of CO2 will enjoy a 20 per cent Capital Allowance, compared with ten per cent for vehicles above that threshold. Fiat pointed out it has 70 models that would benefit from the higher relief rate - the equivalent of 83 per cent of its UK line-up. Spokesman Adam Pumfrey commented: "The new capital allowance rules will make our vehicles even more appealing in the fleet sector, particularly in the current economic climate." Last month, Fiat reported it had recorded the lowest average CO2 emissions for autos sold in 2008.
